Kumbi ~ We have repaired our link to you, because your mum is so clever to have known what our problem was with the leaves and pictures, and so we have ALL of your pictures and leaves back again! And speaking of leaves, I realized what total Dogeniuses us dogs are. We have solved one of the great directional riddles that silly humans face every day, about which way is North,South, East and West. Mum was explaining to us that you live a ways North AND West from us. She laughed when I started looking up in trees for you, and circling them to get a better look! You see, us Dogs KNOW that North is ALWAYS straight up a tree, South is straight down, East is always to your right as you face the tree and West to the left. Which means, North and South are always in the same place, and East and West include hundreds of minute directions as one runs the circumference of the tree. So why humans ever bother to try and describe EastorWest, which is everywhere and nowhere at the same time, is beyond my DogeniusNess! But North we know exactly to be "up." So this is why I look for you in trees by circling them until I hope to see enough West at the same time as the North to see you! Mum says she might put your picture in the tree for me, so it will make sense to me. Like your mum, she's always trying to figure out What Makes Sense To Dogeniuses. (Cause she knows we are SOOOO much clever and wise than Humans!)

Kumbi, we kind of signed Kwali's guestbook but we waited to sign yours until we could see you. Its not the same signing a book where we could not see you. But Mum hasn't figured out all the calming signals the computer keeps throwing at her, and so she is not communicating with it that well. But it seems you knew a trick to make the pictures work, and it worked! We see you! Oh happy day!

Chere Dear, I mean, Dear Cher, I'm so happy you can see my picture now! If I'm handsome, it's because I'm a real lover. A nice one, not a mean one. It really just means I love a lot. A very lot. Thanks for letting me know! I'm off to bed with Kwali now (don't draw too many conclusions), and we'll drag Mum to bed too. Love from Kumbi!

Hey, Cher! Yikes! Well, could you see my portrait at all? Try below the right corner, but above the leaves. Well, I chewed a hole in the leaves; what else is a dog good for? Can you see my picture? Love from Kumbi!

Kumbi, your picture isn't up in the right corner. I'd be speaking to Mommy about that!

Hi Kumbi, Sorry to be using your guestbook as a test, but nice of you to allow that; thanks! Something happened to Kwali's Guestbook, and your Mum asked me to check in and have a look. Back entries were missing after a new entry today. So I thought I'd try making a new entry in yours. Just in case, I saved a copy of the data file for your guestbook FIRST, before making this entry. I repaired Kwali's Guestbook as best I could, restoring the old entries - lucky Mum had dowloaded it. But maybe there's something bad in the coding, and if so, there's probably something bad in yours, too! Hope not! Mon, 25 Apr 2005 18:19:12 Love, From your Auntie Almali

Dear, dear beloved Kumbi Ya Sentry, Of course you may watch over this Guestbook, and yes, of course we'll keep it. It could be a great place for fantastic stories and tales of all kinds. Give me about half an hour (maybe less) to get you in here to watch over this place for all of us. I love you too. Sun, 17 Apr 2005 15:02:51 Mummy

Dear Mummy, You slipped up. Let's keep this test Guestbook, okay? I know Kwali and I helped you so much that now the Regular Guestbook is working - and validating as XHTML 1.0 Strict, too, finally! But don't just throw this away, okay? I need another place to watch over Coherent Dog. This would be a great place for me to watch over. Kwali is watching over the other one, so how about putting me, the Great StoryTeller and Master of Calming Signals, in to watch over this one? Pleeeze? Pretty Pleeeeeze? I'll do a great job; you know that. Sun, 17 Apr 2005 14:59:27 Love, Kumbi the Great Sentry, Retriever, Master StoryTeller and Total Master of Calming Signals

Okay, Mummy, Accolade for you.I'm stuffed! Those treats were pretty darn good, and then lunch right after. My hair feels better after the brushing, and my nails feel better too. Aren't I getting GREAT at holding still for nail clips! YEAH! HEY! We did it! I'll let Kumbi finish the story; he went after this with his telented proboscis, and then I rushed in and KILLED the ERROR! I'm really good at that. Sun, 17 Apr 2005 14:04:29 Love, Your deveote, always-watching Kwali. IT VALIDATED!

Oh, Kwali, good ideas! Would you mind waiting just a bit for the brushing and the nails? I promise, no more than an hour! Thanks for the ideas! They're good ones! I'll try them! Sun, 17 Apr 2005 12:19:19 Mummy

Mummy, it's time for you to brush us. How about clip our nails, too? I wouldn't ask, except you always give us treats when you do that. Hmmm? Hey! Do this: take the source code of this page. About that validation error - missing one of (list follows, which includes "object, map ...." and I can't remember what else), it's probably just a missing quote mark just PREVIOUS to whatever is triggering the error, or maybe a missing close-tag. There were only two errors on this new script, and both were related to illegal placement of tags: , and . Other times, all you've had to do to fix that is put in a quote mark where one was missing just before that, or a closing angle-bracket, or soemthing like that. It's got to be in the script, so try revising the write output part of the script to produce a missing quote mark or a missing angle-bracket to close a tag, or something like that. How's that for what I've learned looking over your shoulder all this time? You know, Mummy, the Eye of doG is always Upon You. Sun, 17 Apr 2005 12:16:56 Kwali Corazon Houdini Porcupine Twinkletoes

That is, I didn't really run off with your chair; I'm from next-door, but spend a lot of time with you, Prancy, Kwali and Kumbi. Any bets on whether this new test Guestbook (3) will work? How about -VALIDATE - online - as XHTML 1.0 Strict, after there's finally an entry? I saw: "error occured processing directive," or something similar, when I brought this page up from the vertical nav on the Home Page, but since there was no guest3.dat at the time, maybe that's why? I hope so. For your sake. For mine, too. Sun, 17 Apr 2005 11:20:24 Almali your BS Buddy (That's "Black Sheep," not the other BS.)
