Cutie's DogDaddy just got an AlphaTrak meter

The AlphaTrak is an animal-validated meter with an excellent reputation for consistency and reliability .The Freestyle meter (for humans), made by the same company, has a similarly good reputation.

Cutie's numbers are running high, but the curve has a really nice shape to it, suggesting perhaps some adjustments can be made with insulin dose to bring the numbers down safely.

On the 9:30 reading, the vet's lab machine gave the figure of 450 mg/dL; compare with the AlphaTrak at 501 mg/dL, and the Freestyle at 301 mg/dL.

Cutie's dose was changed the day before this curve

DogDaddy Ron reported that Cutie's insulin dose had been raised from 15 to 17 units of Humulin NPH insulin, the day before his vet and he took the readings for this curve. So, the CHART shows Cutie's dose as 17 units, but that increased dose won't have settled in yet, as it takes a few days - at least three, and more like a week, for a changed insulin dose to reveal how it's affecing the animal's body.

Keep up the good work, Ron and Cutie!
